My son started Pre-K on Monday. I was anxious about how it would go. My husband and I took him in to the school. He went right over to his classmates and teacher and sat down on the pillows they were all on and started chatting. My husband and I both watched for a moment and then told him we were going to leave and he paid us no mind. It was so funny, we were there all of maybe a full minute and he waltzed right in like he’d been going there and knew everyone for years. I’m happy that he’s confident enough to be able to do that!
Since he has started Pre-K he’s told me that there is a cute girl in his class who was wearing a green shirt. Green is his favorite color so I’m sure that had something to do with it. He also told me that they were working on walking in a straight line, which they call ‘line up’ and that he likes playing on the playground but he can’t climb up the ladder to get to everything by himself. I reassured him and told him to keep trying each day and he’ll be able to do it soon. He also told me that they were read a story about “Apple Annie.” I looked this up online and found out there is a series of books, each one about one letter of the alphabet and a character is used to teach each letter.
I’m so proud of him and the way he has so easily adjusted to this transition. I honestly think it’s been harder on me than him. I have started knitting a lot recently. I'm making him a zip-up cardigan and let him pick out the yarn color and, of course, he picked out bright green. I can't wait to have it finished and see how much he enjoys wearing it.

Birthday at Disney World
Yesterday my son turned four so we took him to Disney World because he loves Mickey Mouse so much. It was our best trip there so far. This is by far the most amount of rides we were able to go on there. We took the ferry over which is always a somber moment for myself since my grandmother and great-grandmother's ashes are both in the lake there. While we were on the ferry my son saw another kid with one of the fan/water squirter things and, even though he has one already at home, he began asking for one. So, once we got off of the ferry, that was the first thing we bought.
The first thing we did was go to Frontierland get a Fast Pass for Splash Mountain. He is finally tall enough for the 40" rides and that always has a long wait so we didn't want to miss it. While we were waiting for our return time, we saw the Country Bear Jamboree and visited the Haunted Mansion. He hadn't seen the Country Bear Jamboree before and he enjoyed it; he was clapping and singing during the show. I told my husband that the last time I saw that show, I was a kid and to me then, the auditorium seemed huge and now that I was there as an adult, it was actually pretty small. We only had to wait a minute or two to get in the Haunted Mansion. This was my son's first time in there where he was totally fearless. Not once was he upset of the dark. After both of those rides, it was time for us to return to ride Splash Mountain. I think this might have also been my first time riding it. I got a laugh out of my husband because at the beginning there is maybe a five foot dip and he was already yelling on that. The ride was a lot of fun for us. They had several dips that were smaller than the 50' drop and we kept thinking that they were going to be the big one.
From there, we grabbed a Fast Pass for Thunder Mountain Railroad and then went to the Liberty Tree to have lunch. Since it was my son's birthday they showed us a list of items we could purchase to surprise him. I chose the $10 gift pack. My son had Mac & Cheese, I had the delicious Tri-Corner Sandwich and my husband had a cheeseburger. All of the good was great. At the end of the meal, they sang to him and gave him a cupcake.
Next up was Thunder Mountain Railroad. On the way over there, we stopped and let our son take a irthday photo with Donald Duck and he even gave Donald a hug. While we were waiting in line, it began pouring rain. They didn't stop the ride, instead they said "Ladies and Gentlemen, Thunder Mountain Railroad is now a water ride!" and everyone began cheering. Every train that returned was full of soaked and cheering passengers. It was still pouring for our ride and it was a lot of fun. Once we were done we went to put our son in his stroller but that was soaked. I remembered that in the Splash Moutain gift shop they sold towels so we went there and put a towel down in his stroller and bought him a Splash Mountain t-shirt so he would be sitting in a soaked one. Once we did that, the rain had stopped.
One next stop was Fantasyland. I remembered that Peter Pan's Flight always has had a huge line, so we got a Fast Pass for that and then parked the stroller and went on It's a Small World. I took lots of photos on that ride because my son always enjoys it. We had two hours before we could ride Peter Pan's Flight, so we continued on to more rides.
Mickey's PhilharMagic was right around the corner and we hadn't watched that before. We all enjoyed the show except that a lot of the large 3d items in the middle of the screen didn't actually look 3d, instead they were showing up as two images and making us cross-eyed. Our son kept trying to reach out and grab some ofm the 3d items. At the end when Donald Duck flew out towards us, my son ducked down like he was going to get hit. Then we turned around and saw Donald Duck had crashed into a wall and his butt and legs were sticking out and we laughed. I tried to snap a picture, but he had already make his escape.
From there visited the gift shop and my son found a baby Mickey and had to have it. He's been pretending for quite some time now that he is carring around a Baby Mickey and now he really has one. He also wanted the jumbo sized Mickey Gloves and a small Mickey Mouse who is wearing a Fantasia t-shirt. In that store I bought a t-shirt for my husband that has Donald Duck on it and says "I flunked my anger management class."
When we got outside it had started to rain a bit so we went on the Snow White ride. I remember this ride being a bit more skewed towards the Evil Queen and having some dark areas but I didn't see any of that this time. We still had plenty of time before we could ride Peter Pan's Flight so we kept going and took a spin on the Tea Cups. My son's favorite color is green and he was happy that we were able to get in a green one this time. Also, all the while he's holding on to his Bay Mickey. Once we got in the Tea Cup he sat up the Baby Mickey on the seat with us.
Then we went over to Mickey Mouse's house so our son could get his birthday picture taken with Mickey and Minnie. Last time he took a photo with them he stood about three feet in front of them and wasn't too sure about letting them touch him. This time he gave each of them a big hug and then stood with them for a few photos. As we were leaving he told them he loved them too. When we got outside it was starting to rain again and my husband was getting tired and wanted to rest. I let him sit on a park bench while I took my son inside of the store that looks like a circus tent. I found a nice t-shirt for myself and my son. Each one has Mickey as the Apprentice from Fantasia on it and they both have some nice embellishments on them. I also bought him a pin of aviator winds with Mickey's face in the middle of it and a Mickey Mouse cup, Mickey Mouse egg shapers and a kitchen towel.
Finally, it was time to go on Peter Pan's Flight. On the way there we passed behind Cinderalla's Castle so I took a few photos of my son and husband. Once on the ride, it was just as I had remembered it from childhood except it seemed very quick. I couldn't imagine waiting in a huge line for a ride to go by that fast!
We still had Tommorowland and Adventureland to visit and it was up to our son's choice and he chose "pirates!" So we were on to Pirates of the Caribbean. There was no line at all so we walked straight through and got right on. This is also a ride he had gotten a little scared on before but this time he was tough and had fun on it. After that we had a snack and then walked over to Tomorrowland.
Once in Tomorrowland, we tried out a ride that we hadn't been on before, Stitches Great Escape. My son didn't care for this ride because there were several periods of time where we were sitting in total darkness and we were each in bucket seats with restraints on, so he wasn't able to cuddle into us. Instead, he held our hands, hid has face and we were consoling him while he was saying he wanted to go outside. Once that was over we went on the Buzz Lightyear ride and had fun shooting our lazer guns while our son was spinning us around.
Finally, it was 9pm and time for the fireworks show. The fireworks were awesome and I got a lot of great photos of them and Cineralla's Castle. Once those were done, we headed to the car and drove home. Our son was alseep in his chair in no time. It was an awesome birthday!

Birthday Party
Yesterday was my son’s birthday party. He wanted the theme to be Mickey Mouse again. He really loves Mickey. He got lots of Mickey Mouse presents and we are taking him to Disney on his birthday. He was so excited when I arrived with all of his Mickey Mouse head latex balloons before the party started. After he got all of his presents opened, he went around to everyone and thanked them with a hug. The last time we went to Disney I bought him one of the mouse-ears hats that says “Happy Birthday” on it and he wore that during his party.
Lately, he’s been pretending a lot that he has an imaginary baby, lots of times more than one baby. He’ll carry it around and tell me if the baby is hungry, tired or needs a diaper. He’s got such an amazing imagination. There is one episode of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse where Goofy is a baby and he loves it. He’ll pretend he has each of the characters as a baby, plus a baby clubhouse, baby glove balloon, baby shoe garage, etc.

Birthday Balloons
I ordered Mickey Mouse balloons from Qualatex for my son's birthday. We has to take them to a few places before finding a balloon store who could figure how to inflate them properly. So I placed an order for them to be blown up for his birthday. He didn't quite get it that we would come back and get them on the day of his party and instead thought that I was giving away his coveted Mickey Mouse balloons. I finally got him to leave the store after he kept staring at the bag of balloons and the store owner while confused. Also while we were there we bought a jumbo Mickey Mouse head mylar balloon. Lastly, just today we received in the mail the three Qualatex see through bubble balloons. On one side is Mickey, Minnie and Goofy in the Glove Balloon and on the other side is Mickey and his friends in a car in front of Mickey Park and Pluto flying with a big red balloon ties around him. Now I have to think of how to get all of these Mickey Mouse balloons to my house on the party day!

Sick on Mother's Day :(
Unfortunately, I am still sick. This is my fourth sinus infection so far this year. I am going to look for a new allergist since I've been getting shots for over three years and I'm still suffering this badly. Luckily, I already had a scheduled check up with my general physician tomorrow morning so I'll be able to get antibiotics. I've spent my Mother's Day in bed and lying on the couch. This spoiled my husband's plans to take me to dinner so he's improvising and went to pick up takeout. My son is the sweetest! When I was lying in bed he got me a bandaid and put it on me and told me it would make me feel better. If only it was that easy!

Been sick!
My son got sick last week and I got sick midweek. He's starting to feel better but I woke up today feeling horrible! Looks like it will be another indoor weekend for us. I can only wish we are both better tomorrow for Mother's Day.

Big Donald's

Wall Art
Yesterday my son had another first... First time using markers on doors and walls. Most of it was on his bedroom door (which was easy to clean off since it is oil-based paint) and featured Mickey Mouse and letters of my son's name. On the wall in his room he drew an "A" which we weren't able to get off and my husband claims he's going to keep there until our son is a teenager and then he'll tell him to paint over it. We'll see if that happens! Too bad we aren't in prehistoric times so that toddler wall art would be appreciated.

Latex
About a week ago, I found Mickey Mouse latex balloons on eBay. They have his face on them and the balloons have ears. I bid on them and won them for Rohan but he caught me while I was bidding on them. Ever since he saw the photo of them on eBay he's been asking if he can have the "latex." He is so into balloons that he knows the different types. Each day he has made me take him to the mailbox to show him if they have been delivered or not. I tell him they haven't been delivered but he has to see for himself. Everytime the dog barks, he asks it it is the mailman with his latex.

Fourth Birthday Coming Up!
My son's fourth birthday is coming up in a few weeks. I've been spending time looking for and buying items for his Mickey Mouse birthday party. I found some really great deals on the Disney shopping site and on ebay.com. He's going to get some big suprises for his birthday! I can't wait to see his reaction when he opens his presents.
Also, he will be starting PreK in August. We went to his open house on Wednesday and now he has a cold. Not looking forward to him getting more colds because of people letting their sick kids go to school.
He now can color very well and stay almost all the way in the lines. He's learned to write and spell his name. He loves drawing me Mickey and Minnie.
I've just recently started scrapbooking again. I was in a creative slump for several months. I hope I continue to feel creative and keep up with documenting things on this blog.
