It's been a while

It’s been quite a while since I’ve been able to post. Such is the life or a working mom! We are going to be going on a cruise in a month so we are very excited about that. I’ve been spending some time planning our shore excursions and trying to make the best choice for my son so that he isn’t stuck sitting in a bus for a long amount of time, bored out of his mind. I’m really looking forward to this vacation and I’m excited that my son will already be visiting other countries and he’s only 3.

My son’s infatuation with balloons continues. He is also a politically-minded toddler and recently those two things have crossed paths. Last year I was avidly campaigning locally for Ron Paul’s Presidency and I took my son to Ron Paul events. Because of this exposure he started getting excited whenever he saw Ron Paul’s photo and would start yelling “Ron Paul! Ron Paul!” Unfortunately, Ron Paul didn’t get the Republican nomination and has since then been pretty much out of the spotlight. Now my son is backing Barack Obama. When we ask him Barack Obama or John McCain, he emphatically replied “Rock Obama!”  When he sees John McCain on TV he yells “No John McCain!” This weekend he was asking for a Barack Obama balloon. I wish I had one to give him, but I don’t think they even make those!

He also still asks for a new green Mickey Mouse balloon. This is the balloon we bought him at Disney on his birthday four months ago. It’s so cute because I’ll explain that we are going on a cruise ship soon and we are saving money for that and then maybe a month or two after that we can go back to Disney and get a new green Mickey Mouse balloon. He’ll patiently listen and wait for me to get done explaining and then immediately he’ll say “I want a new green Mickey Mouse balloon.”

Lollipop Clouds

I haven't had a chance to Blog in a while. Things have been busy and last Saturday our dog was diagnosed with a Mast Cell Tumor. She is going to have it surgically removed on Thursday. :( A few weeks ago I was explaining to my son the rain cycle, in simple terms. When I was done telling him that when the rain in the clouds gets too heavy, it drops the rain he looked at me with a twinkle in his eye and said "Lollipop clouds!" I laughed and said that although that is a great idea there are no clouds that drop lollipops everywhere. :) A couple of nights ago he came up with a new game and was cracking himself up playing it with me. He'll say "Eat" and then a food name and then he'll take pretend bites from my hand or my cheek.

Super Bunny!

We had another visit from Super Bunny last night! My son loves Max and Ruby and in several episodes Max pretends to be Super Bunny. I bought my son SuperMan pajamas complete with cape and he LOVES them and runs around like he's about to take off and yells "SUPER BUNNY!" This time I actually got some photos of him doing this so I'm very excited!! Today was his 3 year old check up. He's 29lbs and 37.5 inches. :)

Why Am I Starting This Blog?

I'm starting this blog because I've noticed that when I scrapbook, I usually get to the event several months (to a year) after the event took place and I can't remember the little details. So I'm going to use this blog to document those details so I will have them later. My son is so funny and there are plenty of things he says and does that I dont' want to forget!

My son is in love with a cartoon called Max and Ruby. We were watching an episode where they go to the fair and one of the games is called "Balloon Blam-o." He already loves balloons so he took notice of this right away and started saying "Blam-o!" He got a balloon-on-a-stick that we've had since he was born and tossed in on the ground in front of our dog. She jumped in it and it popped, she is skiddish so she jumped away from it immediately. My son bursted out laughing and saying "Blam-o!" He was laughing about this for a very long time. I've been asking him to tell everyone about this and he tries to but is laughing too hard everytime he thinks about it!
